"It's a Wonderful Life"
(7:00 PM - 8:30 PM)
Tannery Pond Community Center, North Creek, NY
In the golden days of radio, it was as much a joy to be in the studio or sit around the radio and let the shows and your imagination take over. Many of the radio dramas were broadcast in theatres live with an audience present enjoying the action.
During the 1920's to the advent of television in the 1950's radio was the main source of family entertainment. Gem*Boy Productions will recreate that family time fun when they present "It's a Wonderful Life" as if it was being broadcast for WADK at area North Country venues.
The audience watches the live broadcast as a handful of actors create 33 parts, including commercials for area business. Just as in the days of old, the star of the show will be the foley artists who create all the sound effects live in front of the audience.
The film version of "It's a Wonderful Life," has always been a holiday classic and the simulated radio version, with a story that pulls at your heart strings, remains a winner. It is a sentimental tale of perseverance turning the tide. George Bailey finds he is loved and his life does have value. In doing so, he will earn his new friend Clarence his wings.
